How much diff between the AC mic and a TL?

The ac they use around here with the red led readouts are 5 decibels give or take off from the usaci Term-lab I've used.

which ac meter? I've been told the indash epic-160 is about 1 db off. The older 150 is a lot more off

This was yesterday with one of my subs blown, 2 1000 watt amps and 2 12's. I've had it reading 161 before. It is very inaccurate and so is the volt meter. It is at least 1 volt off.

And even the TL has been scrutinized. The company I do maintenance work for does formation testing and layer analysis in bedrock, and they use sound waves shot into the ground, and use a multi million dollar analyzer to read the db ratings of each layer to find soft spots.

I mentioned the TL and they said they tried it along with 5 other meters, and the TL was off by 5 dbs as compared to their expensive one over a huge range of sound. I was really surprised.

It can be. All depends on the settings.

At SBN this year, it was about a db off from the TL if not less.
