You will deffinately notice a difference in output between a single 12 and a single 15, and it should be quite substantial if your setup is done correctly.
The more fair comparison, as noted above, would be an rl-p 15 vs avalanche 15.
I don't have any experience with the rl-p, but I've got the avalanche and I can tell you that you will not be disappointed in it at all, it is a great sounding driver...very smooth and quite loud.
Compared head to head with an SX, it is louder off a bx1000d, and not quite as loud when the SX gets a dei1100d (although we switched cars when we switched amps too, to a smaller car...). Beyond that point of comparison, and a comparison to the 15A, which is probably more relevant since it's a TC9 driver, that I could give you if interested I will just say it's a great sub.
From what I hear though, people are having great experiences with the rl-p's as well, supposed to be pretty badass, so I doubt you'd be disappointed either way, as long as you went with 15's. If it's a 12 vs 15 decision, get the avalanche.
OT:
I've got an idea...that rl-p 12 would fit perfectly with the raffle budget this month...hmm.
how come i didn't hear such a big difference between a single 12" magnum and single 15" brahma? i think it was because my 15" box was 3.2 cubes net and the 12" box was 2.5 cubes net.
