How much battery for dd m3a?

I know its not a ton of power but i want to make sure im safe on battery. 73 nova with 160 alt. Only option i have is i added electric windows. So dd m3a and maybe 500 watts for the doors. As of now i have 2 ford 800 amp agm batteries i got for cheap brand new. The car is not running yet so i have sometime. But i was wondering if i should upgrade my batteries to handle the m3 or should i be fine. No battery under the hood and dont plan to play with car off. 1/0 welding cable to the alt.

500\14.4 = 35

that’s max amps so with a 160 alt you should be okay with the batteries as long as you aren’t going full Tilt. Musically Or daily listening you’ll be at about 30%-40% ’of that 245 amps

Is that 3000 watts? Im afraid that the amp will do more.

Im might have a line on another battery. I gave one to my father inlaw but im not sure if he using it. If not i will go pick it up. I can pick up more of these batteries if the guy is still selling them. I believe i got them for $50. He has a contract with ford to service their batteries when the cars first hit our docks.

Really only one way to find out. If you play this hard the batteries you have will be struggling to keep up I suspect. Try it out and if your voltage is sagging too much keep adding batteries. You will never hurt things by adding too much battery.

My goal wasn’t to discredit your amp. The max amperage on it is 400. Musically If you’re not too hardcore you’ll be at 30-40% of max amps which is 120-160 amps. You got 160 amps for everything As of right now. Follow @hispls advice and get it connected. Keep your gain super conservative and if you’re happy with the output and voltage stays consistent and drops are within acceptable range then mission accomplished. Worst case scenario you end up needing an alternator

Im just seeing the amp is doing more like 4k. Ive been looking for a bigger alt as well. I will have to see once everything gets installed. It seem alts are cheaper then batteries so that might be the way to go if needed

Cheaper And lighter If you’re going to be playing when driving and not demoing with engine off. Also a lithium could replace a lot of battery weight

Man them lithium batts seem nice but the price burns. If the 2 batts i have dont cut it i might just have to swap them out for some better ones. I not sure if add weight to the car is a good thing. These older cars take a lot of fine tuningto get the supension right. We'll have to just see.

That statement a bout the older cars is exactly what I was thinking. Super jealous of your whip, I can only imagine how badass that car is....it’s a big metal beast tho, be ready for sound treatment/rattle trials and tribulations. Grab and alternations and don’t spend anymore time thinking about batteries until things are installed

Yeah its getting there. I missed this summer cuz the motor and ***** had to get pulled from my other nova b4 i sold it. This car needs a lot of work. I had to learn how to weld. I already used 100sf of killmat for the floors and some of the trunk. I plan to pick up another 50 and just for the trunk. Working on getting a holley efi kit now.i plan to be able to back out my garage by spring if everything goes right...
