How many watts will they handle?

I just picked up some used Fosgate Punch HE's (10s) in a sealed from a friend and a 1000 watt Memphis amp. Got them all for 300$.. which really wasn't bad.. I wanted the amp mostly.. It runs like 300watts at 4 ohm, 600watts at 2 ohm and 1000 at 1.. and was wondering how much these "Punch HEs" can handle. The RMS on them is like 200 with a max of 400.. I'm not sure if they're dual 4ohm or 2, I can check on the back of the magnet right?? Anyways.. I'm gonna be hooking them up tomarrow..Was debating on either slapping on the memphis or my Hifonics BX1500D to them..depending on impendence and how much more they can handle.. What do you guys think?

*EDIT*

Forgot to mention, I'm not a big fan of Fosgate at all.. I guess they have some good subs for SPL, but I'm a big fan of Memphis and RE.. I was saving for a XXX, but I heard they are on backorder so this is just to get me by. Btw This is my first system..

I would prolly run the Hifonics at a 4 ohm load o nthe HE's which is 250rms per sub which as long as you dont play with the gain knob they will be ok . Now would you like to sell that memphis amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. 300rms will prolly killem 250 is pushin it liek as should be ok as long as gain knob is low.

Sorry guys, this is my first install.. I went out tonite after I bought the subs/amp and got a new amp kit from wal-mart (since everyone here tells me just to get one there). I bought one that handles 700watts RMS 1400peak i think its like 4-8guage or something.. I'm really confused on the wiring part.. you know the impendence and everything.. Like I heard that you can run 4 ohm subs like at 4ohm and 1 ohm and like 2 ohm at like 2 and .5? is that true? So I guess if they're 4 ohm I can't run the memphis 2 ohm to them?

They are prolly Dual 4 ohm subs each and you can wire them in series for a 4 ohm load , i would never run a amp at half ohm unless its stable at half ohm , unless ur doing it for competition burps but still its risky.

ok thx.. ima check it tomarrow, thanks for your help man..stay posted for results //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yo lemm know you if wnan get rid of that memphis amp i think i may have a single sub comign in that would be perfect for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I got them hooked up yesterday..doesn't sound bad.. I am VERY pleased because my trunk hardly rattles at all! I must say nice amp, I'm running the memphis at 4 ohms which should be sending 300 (150ea) to the 10s.. It gets really loud in the cab of my car (my mirrors shake and everything), but you can't hear it too far away outside of the car (which is ok for me, bc I don't want anyone to know I have something). I would really like to send these babies more.. since I'm still underpowering them. Is it possible to wire them to 2 ohm if theyre dual 4 ohm speakers.. or what? if not would it be safe to wire them to a 1 ohm load and keep the gain low? I don't want to blow them or hurt my amp. Im confused.. can anyone help?

wait..now i'm confused...in the first post, u said they were he's..correct? he's are single vc subs. if they are indeed he's..then the lowest impedence u can run is 2 ohm,if they are single 4's...do they even make single 2 he's?

if they are he2's..then they are dvc......and they have a higher rms rating

so did u ever take the subs out and look at the back? how many terminals are there? should be two sets per sub, if they are he2's..one set on either side of the sub....two reds, two blacks, if they are he's..only one set per sub..one red, one black...

heck..even his sig says he's..we need to know to verify what impedence ur running...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

Sorry to confuse you man. They are just plain HEs. I never took them out of the box they were orginally in, I just wired them the same he had them. Now that I've looked on the web a little.. I'm pretty sure they're just single voice coils. Does anyone know anything about the old Memphis Audio Power Bass amps? This one is about 1-2years old It does 300 at 4 ohm 600 at 2 ohm and 1000 at 1 ohm.. Was wondering if it was 1 ohm stable or safe to wire some other subs up to it at 1 ohm. ? I have 200$ to play with for a pair of new subs, was thinking of more of a SPL setup.. Any suggestions?
