How many watts does my car stock radio put out? and change necesary for amp instal

Hello, I have a 2007 VW Passat TDI. How do I find out how many watts it puts out. Also wondering is it necesary to change the radio if I install a 400W amp.

I'd be surprised if it does more than 10 watts per channel. Most nice aftermarket cd players only do 10 - 15 watts per channel.

No, you don't necessarily have to change cd players to install amplifiers. You could buy a line out converter...

most standard systems dont have rca outputs or hpf/lpf as a guess i'd say it prob puts out about 10watts rms x4

look at audiocontrol or jl. they both make excellent equipment for properly converting your factory head unit into a stealthy block rocker.

If you buy a nice loc, it'll be okay. If you have the cash for a JL cleansweep, that's okay too...

Ok, my amp is a 400W Kenwood, 4/3/2 Channel KAC-6402, and I was going to put some 9x12 in the back. What loc would you recomend? thanks for the help
