An 80A fuse doesn't blow exactly at 80A of current draw. It'll allow quite a bit more in the event of a short until it heats up enough to melt.If a fuse that is rated 80 amps allows more than 80 amps for any extended duration, well, ya might have to use that pretty fire extinguisher.
Umm, in a sense, yes they do allow current to flow. But they also stop the current too! I think the term "Overcurrent protection device" explains what I mean.![]()
