How many watts are my sub really supposed to be able to handle?

I have three JL 12W3v2 dual two ohm subs. I've blown a couple already, thankfully I did get an extended warranty. My question is how much wattage are they actually supposed to get without risking blowing them again. I've been giving them 300 watts rms, which is what they are rated to handle. Is this really to much? If so how much should they get? thanks for all suggestions.
