I am upgrading my head unit and I was wondering if I should also upgrade my power wire to it? Does anyone do this? Would I benifit highly if I upgraded the 16 gauge power wire to my headunit? (It looks like 16 gauge but i could be wrong)

the stock wiring harness should do you just fine, just buy an adapter to the newer radio and you should be set.

Shweet, that is good. I really did not feel like putting in any more wires cuz behind the dash my car is a mess.

I've hardwired to my battery, grounded to my firewall/chassis, and tapped off my accessory in my ignition harness. All in 10AWG wire. Only other wire hooked up on mine is the remote which is also 10AWG.

Any benefit, not necessarily... but I rewired a long time ago just because I could.
