how many IDMAX's would you want?

if you had to put them in a ported box, tuned low for SQ and deep hard hitting bass.

i mean, many people run (2) 12" ported or sealed, but is it worth going up to 3 or 4 if you had the room in a hatchback and money? i mean, what the output be worth the extra subs??

or is that just TOO extreme?? properly powered of course

I am looking into 2 idmax v3 12 right now and for a completely flat response curve in winisd you need 9.8 cubes, ive gotten close with 4 cubes at 21hz, but to even be reasonable with 4 you are gonna have to go sealed, that is if sq is yo thang.

Don't go by what WinISD says. It's not taking into account your vehicle's transfer function, so building a box to what it says and putting it in a vehicle will result in a hugely exaggerated low end.

I would never want more than 2 idmax.....thats too many amps and wires to deal with. Anyways with 2 people are going to hear you and you are not going to have the need for more bass

For the flatest response u would need to set it up IB/TB. The 9.8cft tuned to 21hz is pretty much trying to make an IB setup. If i remeber right ur suppose to have at least the volume of the vas to be running IB. For the IDMax thats 5.71cft, so 9.8 is pretty close, but u might as well find a way to IB it.

Personnaly I agree with the sealed if u do run 4 (1.5cft each). But i mean i dont think u should be looking at the IDMax's if u really do need to run 4 of them for the SPL ur looking for.

Wait, in today's world where people are running MT's and BTL's for daily systems and bragging they sound 'good'... now the SQL guys cant run multiple SQ subs for high output and excellent SQ without someone saying its a waste? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

no, u can do it all u want. I'm just stating my opinion (btw notice i never suggested MT's or BTL's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

For the record, if I do it, I'll have the ability to run as many or few as I want. I doubt Id even run all 4 most times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
What would you otherwise recommend for an SQL system where the person wanted the output four IDMax's could deliver? Just curious. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

IDQ 15"s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and probably 4 of them, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

LOL
Ive also considered multiple big IDQ's (running IDQ10's now). But at some point four IDQ 15's is not far from four IDMax's. Not really fair saying one is overkill/silly, while the other is YOUR dream setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Okay now that Im done explaining where your opinion needs to change (lol j/k)... yeah wouldn't a wall of IDQ's be nice. Hmmm maybe in my lowrider's next setup, they do have those new V3's coming out soon....
