How many computers do you all have? I got called a computer geek today because of the amount of computers I have. (I am a computer geek though). I have 3 desktops that are actually in use, 1 laptop that is actually in use, 20+ desktops that are semi-inuse, and 8-9 that are being repaired. These are my own personal computers. Would this be considered too many computers?

yes. you have too many. i have 3 active. 1 for downloads. 1 for surfing. 1 for my woman. i have 1 that is just for screwing with the registry, but it's basically scrap with a big enough processor and hard drive to hold xp. plenty for 1 household. are you trying to hack the CIA?

No, I'm actually trying to get a business started. Yes, these are my personal computers, but I do use them for building/testing/overclocking/repairing, basically what my business is hopefully going to be about.

I got 1 main desktop and 1 main laptop. If u consider the amount of computers in my other room. Iono at least 30+? If u count all the computers in my house thats like 50+. My dad use to mess with alot of networking so we got a buncha computers everywhere

lol, I have 2 gaming desktops (that way I can 1v1 buddies when they come over) and my laptop and I also do a lot of fixing computers for people so I have some that dont belong to me, but then about 5 more that do belong to me in the closet.

I think that is a status symbol at the Indian reservations in South Dakota..When we drove through there this past May, almost every yard had multiple junk cars sitting in it.

Anyways..I have one nice desktop..and its all I need

I just gave a ton to goodwill a few weeks ago, but I still have a few left. I cant stand seeing full pc's sitting around, the cases take too much space, so I parted many of mine out and I have parts everywhere.

this is what i have right now

1 laptop

1 main server

1 htpc

1 on the way from 2002xlt

1 i am building for my roomates son

ever need a part i have it or can get it

I'm actually ordering parts to build 6 more computers (for family members), and I got all of the parts, so far for less than $1700, from wholesale, ebay, and a local store that a good friend owns. That's more than 14GB of ram, 4.5TB of harddrives, motherboards, and graphic cards. Still getting more though, I'll give you a PM if I need anything that I can't find, Scooby.

As I said before, I don't mess with networking. Nor, have I before. That's actually the only reason why I haven't been able to find a job through some of the computer/internet companies around me. The 4 I have on the internet, someone else had setup up the router for me. I know it's bad knowing a lot about computers, but when it comes to something so simple as setting up a network, I can't, but oh well. I'll learn.

I have a comp (laptop) in my room, and for wherever, and desktop in the Garage, and a brand new desktop that I gave to my parents and sister for general use.. I have 3 other comps.. with simple problems, but are almost worth not fixing..
