How Low?

Well trying to figure out these new amps and what they did (Alpine MRV-F545), I've never adjusted a 4 channel so help would be great. The amp has a Frequency switch (X1=30-400Hz, X2=600-8kHz), both are set to X1. The imput channel selector is set to 3/4 (imputs accept independent imput signals). So now CH1/2 is on HPF and it's set to 200Hz, and CH3/4 is set to LPF and it's at 300Hz. The Bass EQ is set to 0db. Does this sound correct, or do I need to tweak it some?

How is your system setup? What's actually on ch1/2 and ch3/4?
As I said I've never set up components or a 4 channel so. The comps are bi-amped so CH1/2 has to be running the mid and tweeter, and CH3/4 is running the woofers. This is where I'm confused... the amp on CH1/2 is set on "X1" which means it's only going from 30-400Hz (set to 200 on the HPF). Then CH3/4 is on X1 and the LPF is set to 300.

are you sure its not high passed at 200 on the mid and tweet with the mid bass low passed too 300? if its not this way your tweets would sound really hollow and so forth would sould really bad. i flip through my xdp 4000 and get into 4 way mode i get some really wicjkedly bad lol.

Is the midbass running on the passive crossover also? If so, you shouldn't be lowpassing it aswell. It would need highpassed.

Either way, it sounds like your midbass isn't highpassed anywhere....hence it is playing all the way down into subbass frequencies.

Weren't you the one who's Pro midbass' surround separated from the cone?
Yep it did. How would I go about adjust the crossover and what not right? I don't believe it's HPFed either, it's playing all the way down to 10Hz and maybe even lower.

Alright well I switched 3/4 to HPF and put it on 80Hz, it's no longer playing any lower than 80Hz. Did that fix my problem, or now do I have to do something else? Also on CH1/2 I put it on X2 so now it's playing from 600Hz-8kHz. It seems to sound better now, I just need to know if this is right now and if there is something else I need to do to not have the speakers get damaged.

Not sure what you mean by passive. If you are talking about the xovers that came with the comps then yes. As I said I didn't hook it up, cuz I never have befor. All 3 are hooked up to it I believe.
