How long should a quality amp last??

Hey, guys I'm looking into buying some expensive ( at least to my wallet) amplifiers. So my question is how long should a high quality amp last? I'm interested in the Arc Audio xxk/FD and DLS reference.

I know life span is probably hard to determine as it depends on several factors, but if the Arc or DLS were installed correctly and were used conservatively -- what do ya think I could get out of them?

I'd count on at least 20+ years before you can start thinking about any sort of work...electrolytic caps are usually the first things to go from age.

With only minor work I know some 40+ year old amps that are still in daily service.

Alright, thanks guys. I'm new to the audio world and didn't want to spend that amount of money and have it last for 2-3 yrs. I'd like to be able to transfer it to my next car later down the road.
