how long has your hu last

I've only been running my current HU since February or so and as such cannot make any realistic claims about longevity but the KDC-X679 I ran before my XXV-01D was purchased in Apr of '04 and it's still going strong being used occasionally on my test bench.

The KDC-X569 I had before that is still doing well for my ex-landlady and that unit was bought in Mar. of '03.

The unit I ran prior to that first eXcelon (the X569) is a KRC-608 cassette deck, bought in Dec. of '01 and that one is still going strong as well. The 608, which also occasionally gets used as a source on my test bench, has the non-motorized D-Mask faceplate mechanism and has never given me the first problem unlike the D-Mask+ (the automatic, motorized version) which proved so problematic for Kenwood and all too many users.

My Pioneer deh-p9300 is still running great, but the screen is getting pretty bad. It's going on 4 or 5 years old this year. Started getting lines through the screen about 2 years ago, and now there are probably 10-15. Everything is still legible, though.

I've had my Pioneer 3700 since June of 05 and its worked awesome until last week. The preouts are giving my all kinda of signal noise so I think maybe those crapped out on me.

Old-skool (not that I consider it old-skool but I guess it is, lol) Sony mobile ES CDX-C7850, I'm not the original owner (I've had it around 4 years I think?) but I believe the date of manufacture was in 1997 or 1998, so at least 8 years old, still going strong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have had my Pio 7800MP for almost 3 yrs now and its going strong, not any noise or problems(It will probably crap out on me tomorrow for saying that though)

I still have an old Sony CDX-700, The very fist active black panel unit. It was the shiz back in the day-2000(Remember the how cool the slot machine roll was ?) It works for the wife in her explorer.

I've got a Kenwood Excellon X459....that's been in my car for about 4 years, it still works perfectly. I paid less then 200 for it back then. I use it everyday, and can't complain.

Regards Sonny

I have had my cheap Pioneer in since I bought the car, so... its 4 years old , i have had HU that lasted 10 years before I upgraded to something else, they didnt break, I just pulled them out and threw them in the garage once I bought a new one.
