my gain is set so when i play my music at the max volume i like to play it the amp is just below clipping

I use a JVC 5v headunit and on my my mids, the gain is around 1/2 and on the tweeters it's around 1/10 of a turn. My sub amp is at about 75% but it is on an amp that is under powering it pretty well.
