right now i have a 7200mkii and im wondering how difficult as far as money and install, would it be to swap the eclipse for a DD and add processing to stay running active?

im guessing there are still no active capable double dins as of 2009?

Not really , in order to control the 701 through the head unit you would need to run the ainet cable , and an optical cable. I'm not fond of the analog inputs on the 701. I had a few issues with noise running analog //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my lack of know how?

i know what needs to be done...just wanting to figure out more about it...

james bang is a god among active users so i didnt know how to take that comment:crazy:

it is very simple to install an alpine and h701, but i found the the HU i was using (single din) was not very user friendly when trying to sert eveerything up. main reason for getting rid of it, i have heard the it is real easy to navigate through a dd though

IMO, active w/ the 7200mkII is more difficult than installing a dbl-din and an H701... if you can find one.

keep the eclipse. video in a car is overrated. the only reason I have one is to control my h701 and because it plays DVD-audio... 4gb of audio on a single disc is fun. pr0n doesn't image/stage well..

Go with Zapco amps or with the Zapco DSP, H701 w/ screen (I really enjoyed mine), Audison Bit-one, maybe a PPI DCX-730, or if you don't want T/A you can add 3 and 4 way audio control xovers. It's not hard to run active, tuning and making it sound really good on the other hand is very time consuming.
