How hard is it to carpet a box?

Just curious. Looking at having one built but it wont be carpeted. Is it hard to do? Approximately how much would it cost for materials? (2x10)

It will run you 10 bucks a roll of carpet from walmart. You may need 2 at the most. A can of adheasive spray will be about 5-10 dollars.

(Im assuming you already have a razorblade handy)

Working diligently, you can have a box carpeted in an hour or less.

$8-$20 carpet, $4 spray glue, $2 blade.

The hardest part are the two edges of the box where the carpet needs to be cut in an X. After a couple times you get better. The first time is not going to line up and look perfect. Unless you get lucky. Just follow the guides available online and you will be fine.

measure twice and cut once. as long as you stay patient, carpeting isn't that bad

I like the carpet with latex backing. Even if you dont get the cut exactly perfect, it will stretch out a little bit. Just take your time and be sure to use a straight edge for the cuts.
