How Good Are Power HX2's Today?

I am sending my 10" HX2 Power to be rebuilt by a reputable guy. My question is, where does this sub stand at today against the newer stuff? It has 4" voice coils, 1000w rms and back in 2003 hit hard as heck. Your thoughts? and please feel free to compare it to todays monsters. Thanks
