you measure diameter of a sub, divide it in a half. If an answer is bigger than the width of your amp than the pair match, if an answer is less than get another one.

i match subs to amps instead. power first, driver 2nd

huh??? I thought it had to do with the ohm load (which i dont really understand)

no, ^^^thats how most of us do it, I round up on the diameter/2, just to be safe and give a little head room

Do some general, basic research off of some audio site. This is really super easy stuff.
