How do YOU have your box mounted to your car?

In my previous car, the trunk had two heights, the portion towards the front of the car was 4 to 5 inches lower than the portion towards the rear. I had an enclosure that took this into account so unless it tipped over, it couldn't go forward. The enclosure also took up 80% the width so there wasn't much side to side shift.

Also, don't be sure that a heavy *** sub box won't go anywhere. During normal driving, it's weight will keep it in place. If you crash however, don't be surprised of that thing goes flying. My battery bent the hell out of the battery tie-downs after I hit a truck.

I used a 2x4 under the enclosure and screwed the L-brackets through the 1/4" floor and into the 2x4. This worked really well and it kept the sub from moving anywhere. The 2x4 was secured between the tire well with L-brackets as well.

These threads always blow me away. Even a small box can and will kill you (or your girl, your dog, your kids..) in a crash.

I guess if your not smart enough to protect yourself, your section of the herd could use some genetic pruning...

i have seats and passengers in the way...
if a 160+ pound box/sub becomes a projectile i am last on its list
My friend said the same thing... He was on his way to work, the big rig in front of him blew its tire and he swerved, hit the barrier the box hit the backseat so hard that it bent it like it was nothing, didn't believe it till I saw it.
