When I was at circuit city we always hooked up bulb check and tach wire... now that I'm at a different shop they just do wait to start to like 15 or 30seconds(seemed long to me?) and crank time to a second. Well I set one for 30seconds and sure enough it got cold out and the guys 07 silverado 2500 classic wouldn't start. Well I said **** it and went back to my roots and hooked up a tach and wait to start behind the cluster. One of the guys at work says I shouldn't have done it and the guy will be back, and one said I should have. The on that said I should have said I should of just set the wait to start to 15 and hooked up the tach wire.

This guy was ****ing pissed he had to bring it back up and insists I ****ed it up(even though it worked fine when it left, but then again it was already warmed up)... even though I was just going by what I was told by my boss.

I always recommend hooking up the tach wire, especially on diesels. As far as the bulb check wire I have always hooked that up as well until I started doing a Code Alarm piece and noticed that it didnt have a bulb check wire, and there was just the option of wait to start. I dont see how hooking that up would not be correct though. Do you work at a reputable shop?

Tach and wait to start, what iv done, and set it at an appropriate time. and never had any problems..
what problem was he coming back for?

When you say set to a appropriate time I take it you mean run time?

Because with wait to start wire, you don't set a wait to start time...

on the Autopage alarms I installed, you can program how may seconds to wait before it cranks. iirc 10/15/20 etc.
That's how dei's are too. I thought you meant you hooked up wait to start wire, my bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So you usually just do tach and like 15second?

have you done a keyless/alarm in a 07 Tahoe? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Yes and they ****. Prolly not as bad as a remote start/alarm in a new Charger. What the hell were they thinking with a negative starter wire really? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif
