i know im new at the whole audio thing im just trying to do it right. im going to have about a 6.5 cubic ft ported box with a slant rear. the dimensions will be close to

W=44

H=18

bottem D=20

top D=16

and the port will be firing upward so how do i figure what size port i need to make the box sound good?

i guess what im meaning is for instance if i wanted it to be tuned to 32hz or 34hz how would i go about figuring what size port i need to achieve that?

sorry to be a pest but thanks.

YO I GOT U COVERED MAN! dang yo! ima do a design with aeros!

would you have any idea of how to calculate a box with this shape to make 6.5 cubic ft while maintaing the 44in length and 18 ht, because this would be the perfect box but that link i did my calculations on only had rectangle, sloped, etc. . . and i just drew a port to show the top, the aero ports you were talkin about would be sweet up there to

Good design though!

thanks alot bro, you have been a ton of help.
if you ever need a s/c, turbo, or n2o installed then maybe i can help you out lol!
its cool man haha no big but w/e cant say no haha i went with a vented port. u will have 71.5 square inches of port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif tuned to 35 hz

here is a screen shot of a top view...its ur dimensions u already stated

here is a shot of the inside and port. to construct the port its just three pieces. the two sides which are identical and then the back piece. screw the three together outside the box then put em in and screw em down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

edit: that blue # says 3 5/16

holy hell, i def did etch a sketch, i dont know how you did that but its awesome, the only diff would be the flat side would be where the subs are mounted and the slope would be on the port side of the box against the back of my rear seats, but that fantastic! what program did you do that on?

ill def either use that design exactly or this one if i can fill in the blanks to equal 6.25-6.75 ft lol, but i wont count on that one

Make the side parts into triangular prisms, then use the rest as an average box.

very good sketch. Do you like that program? I use auto cad and it is very cool and easy.
GoogleSketchUp, a very basic and simple CAD-like program. It's really popular around here for Box designing / visualizations.
