How Do You Crimp Your 1/0 and 4 awg wires?

get one of those 'cold heat' soldering guns from walmart
or use a vice, such as smoking or nitrates

good idea on the vise but you'd be crazy to use the cold heat for anything larger then like 18awg, cold heat is meant for smaller repairs including fine circuit boards, you'll kill yourself trying to solder 1/0 with the cold heat

crimp, solder and heatshrink for the best connection. high leverage crimpers or hammer strike crimper works best for crimping.

check home depot or lowes for the biggest crimper they have, could be in the electrical section. You know the rest what to do, use?. ALso home depot also rents tools. ALso try automotive places that sell or make battery cables, maybe they will crimp it for free or low $$.

I used the big leverage crimper at work and it worked great, lot better than a hammer and more accurate.

thats 2/0 crimped hydrolicly the wire will break before my crimp does. you should go pick one up there only like $1200

i just use set screw type terminals, i hate them crimp ones

i have a crimping tool. you lock the wire/terminal in to it, and hammer it, also use table vice.

I use large dull bolt cutters as crimpers, works good for me. the table vise i have is a pain in the *** to use.
