actually no they dont, pop your hood, are your motor mounts solid steel? unless you have a custom built drag car then I doubt it. Your engine grounds through the bolts that go through your motor mounts to the chassis, and it always isnt the best. If you want to get real technical then you should also ground your alt to your chassis, it bolts to a bunch of brackets that bolt to the engine then try to ground through rubber bushings, then to your chassis. I dont think im understanding or you are not, battery to engine block and battery to chassis is not the same thing. In a perfect world it would be. But your engine is connected to the chassis through brackets and rubber motor mounts. The grounds work fine for factory stuff but not a high powered stereo system.battery to chassis | battery to engine block=

The 4th is equivalent to the 2nd plus the 3rd, the tie being the connection at the battery. It would be significant if either the 2nd or 3rd wasn't present. It is redundant when both 2 and 3 are present.
