But if i were to put a video on my mp3 player, would ^this^ cable let me watch the video on my indash (jensen vm9311ts)??? I realize that my deck has the ipod hook up but the ipod video is a little out of the budget, so i won't be able to change songs/video/etc, THROUGH THE DECK but i don't mind doing it through the mp3 player. I dont think the above mentioned cable will work because i don't see how video will be sent through my headphone jack, is this right? If this is wrong can someone please point me in the right direction????

Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!!

p.s. odn't know if you'll need this but here's a pic of the back of my deck:

depending on that mp3 player if it has video output, you may be able to play videos through your screen. If it has it in the same hole as the line out, you will have to get one of the 1/8th inch headphone style to a/v(red,white and yellow) cables. Then just plug the yellow into the video input on your head unit and should work.

it doesn't have a video output, do they make a wire that has a usb hook up on one end and can plut into my aux inputs?
More than likely no. If a cable like that exists for your specific MP3 player, do a search for one. All in all, I seriously doubt you will be able to get video from the player to your screen. Even if a USB cable existed, it would most likely need a power supply to convert the digital signal to analog video to be input into the screen.

I really wasn't even aware the iPods output a video signal. I am a little behind I guess.

ipod puts out the video signal through the 3.5mm headphone jack, I wouldnt be suprised if that MP3 player does the same.

It works like this

?

see how there is 3 black lines on the 3.5mm plug? the 3rd one is for the video.

U can see there is only 2 black strips. Left and right sound channels.

Thats the easiest way to describe it.

U can always get the 3.5mm cable with 3 RCA outputs for cheaper on ebay, the specially made for ipod ones are the same as the one's the use for Sony video camera's to TVs, only difference is they have different color outputs.

For example im using the sony cable, and the Red Cable is actually white, the White is actually Yellow and the Yellow is actually white, so when I hook it up to my TV it would be Red to white, White to yellow, and Yellow to white. Hope u understood that

I just figured since it was an iPod, they would make you buy one of their specialty cables or adapters, much like the original car kits that used the interface connection instead of the audio/headphone adapter.

I like the 3 way 3.5mm jack to component RCA idea. Sends the analog video directly out of the player. Great call on that one! I think that cable comes with digital cameras too.

so just find that^ wire but only with 3 lines? It will say video also right? Thanks again guys!!!
see if u can figure out if ur MP3 player has that output first, cuse if it doesnt ur outta luck.

and it does come with video camcorders (I know the sony's come with it for sure)
