This Amperage is so confusing.

I am sorry, I am having issues finding answers to how much a car's electrical can handle and you people have been so helpful so far.

Would a 105A alt with big 3 and second battery handle any of these 3 setups? This is under daily conditions and will almost never be ABOVE 3/4 volumn.

860mp

Hifonics BXi 1206D (1200wattsRMS x 1 @ 1 ohm)

Alpine MRP-F450 (4 x 70wattsRMS)

Crossfire Vr-1000D (1000wattsRMS x 1 @ 1 ohm)

Sorry to all those people who is pisses off to answer this kinda question...

No one can tell you if it will be adequate. There are just oo many variables such as volume you listen, type of music, type of driving, etc... Anything anyone tells you as far as the adequacy of your electrical setup without first-hand experience with you and your system is passing along nothing more than conjecture.

true 1400 watts cant be made from a 105 amp alt that shares with everything else. some say that extra battery is an extra strain on the alt which in most cases is a total joke (unless the guy is trying to power 3kw on an 80 amp alt with 3 batteries and always under HEAVY use) the battery at worst in the posters situation would help act as a saftey net in case he did have a voltage drop. not only that the amps would recieve higher voltage all the time if the second battery was in back....

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif pretty much describing my situation. lol I was hoping to just add a 2nd bat and hopefully that'd help. But im running 3.5k+ on 80 amp alt and pretty heavey most of the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif Guess i gotta shell out the money for a better alt.

you will need an alt for that which ran in conjunction with the extra batts allows you to do alot more

i run 2.5kW off a 90amp alty and 2 red tops heavy daily.....i stay at 12 volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

95a alt, yellow top, big 3 USamps MD2D @0.5ohm and I barely dim the lights one heavy bass notes full tilt. Voltage doesnt even dip below 13v.
This is promising to hear.

Sounds like it will be able to handle it if I am not too hard on it...

My point exactly. You could have 20kW worth of amps but you won't ever see that kind of power with music. With music, RMS power means squat. Max current draw means squat. Average current draw at the level you play your music is what really matters. Adding a second battery close to the amps will handle the spikes (your alt won't do you any good for those anyway). If you were really pulling so much current all the time with your system that you were truly pushing the limits of your alt, you lights would dim noticably as soon as you turn the system on. From there the car would run erratically with the bass hits at which time the lights would dim further. Eventually the lights would pretty well dim out, the car would quit running and the amps would either shut down or blow their power supplies.
