lots of decks let you turn it off....both my Alpine 9835 and 9887 allowed to turn off all amps and internal processors

Go to page 35 in your manual.

According to your manual you have to enter the stand by mode menu... Not sure how to do that on your unit, but its in there.

what do you gain when turning off the internal amp?

if your using amps, you don't need the head unit to amp anything. why have the internal amp on if you don't use it?

i'm waiting for my 9887 is it possible to keep 2 of the channels on for the rear deck and shut the other two off for the door speakers?

i did not know that. i'm going to turn it off in my x591. i just run amps anyway
