okay. well thanks for input. the simple answer then is to just get my target voltage using a -6db tone 40-50hz? just to double check its AC voltage. on my multimeter there are two things under the AC voltage setting one is "500" and the other is "200" lol i just bought it so i don't know what these mean. maybe i shall look in manual.

set to 200, and use a 50hz -6db tone following the tutorial.

dbfan has been using -10db tones for i cant even remember, and has never had a problem. i just cant bring myself to do the same. my nuts just arent big enough.

I've got a pioneer HU and that same amp. When I went to set my gains, everyone said to be safe, use 0db and hu at 75% (~45/62), will all eq/settings/bb off. At that point, with gain at max on the amp, the dmm was only reading about half of what it needed to (and I used a rms of 1200 when I calculated it), so I knew something was up. After stating the situation and asking some questions (nG i think?) someone answered me and said to use 55+ on HU, and to use a -6 tone, I did that, and I hit the voltage I needed to at right around 1/2 gain, so I was happy.

Edit:

Maybe it was ignoreme, not ng that answered me... w/e
