How do i know the limit?

I was just wondering the limit of how loud my woofers get. like when i turn it up and it doesnt get anymore louder. that would be the limit obviously? i just don't want to hurt anything. o and i lugged my box outa my trunk and tried to set gains properly. tried to get target voltage to 36.7 volts.. yea i measured ac voltage. on mine there is ac "500" or ac "200" lol i really don't know how to use the thing properly. i used both settings and on the 200... it was reading out 3.7 volts. i assumed there was a decimal problem. but anyways my gain was just over half at that point. with volume at 45/60 playing 50hz tone at 0 db. with all settings down on hu and bass boost off on amp. then i reconnect everything.... and playing some music... and the bass doesnt even hits soo piddly. im like okay.. so i just turned my settings up on headunit a little. and use bass knob for amp. i just don't want to turn up tooo loud and something goes.. by the way i have 4 pioneer 12s hifonics 1606D in a 7 cubic net enclosure.

Well depends on which pioneers. But my rule of thumb is (if max on deck is 35) i set my bass to "maxx out to the ear" on a 45hz test tone(or whichever is loud in your car) at volume 23. then your music peaks around 28 to 30 ish. and just don't turn this past 28. Now this is NOT the scientific way to do it and you have to trust your ears a lot and depends if that amp puts out much more clean wattage than your subs can handle. Honestly measuring a set voltage is pointless cause you don't know the ohm load so you can't determine the power.

Blaaa time to dig my box out of the trunk... thats a 10 minute problem in itself:)
you dont HAVE to, but you are missing a bit of output by using a 0db tone.

most music that i have checked was around the -7db marker (some were a big higher, and most were a lot less)
