Hi guys.

I lights dim when I hit deep bass and have had some lights blow out. Someone suggested I do a grounding upgrade, but I was wondering if I need a capacitor. How do I know if I need one and what size I should get.

Thanks!!

Krs

Any alt can be at least re wound for more amperage.

Try to look for a custom electrical place near you, or head to your local autoparts store, Or even search the net.

what do you drive, as in year make and model with engine size, ill look for you to help out

I have an 04 mazda3 2.3 engine.

Is getting an alternator rewound expensive? I assume the car would need to be out of commission for a while, right?

ha, I guess that wouldn't be a bad idea.

Where can I search for high voltage alts? (other than google) Do you know a reputable site?

Mean Green, Powermaster, Dominik Iraggi builds alts too, ( cant remeber site atm, but email him at dominick@tds.net) Think Knu Koncepts sells some, Realm of Excursion sells some,

Excessive amperage,

What I would do is ask who builds alts for your specific car on here, and on a mazda forum or two, and see who has custom alts from whatever company and who is happy, who isnt with theirs.

I myself use powermaster alts.

I just checked powermaster and they don't offer mazda parts, but I think the mazda engine is the same as the focus.

Thanks for your help!!

Shut up.

Before spending money on an alternator, do the big-3 upgrade and make sure the grounds on your amp(s) are solid.
