How do I hook up subs to my stock deck?

I have a stock bose cd player in my car. I can get a line out converter for the speakers in the car but what do I do for the output to the sub? Is there some type of controller I can buy to output a mono signal that can be adjust that goes to the subs amp?

Do you have pre amp out lets? Red and white plug ins? Thats where u connect the RCA cables to the amp.

My stock bose didnt have them, I doubt his either. Mine came out of '99 mazda 626

it doesnt have preamp outputs. You can buy a line out converter which converts the speaker wires into 4volt preamp RCA's, for the left and right channels. But how do you get a subwoofer output to control from the player?

if it doesnt have pre amp sub outlets, it probably doesnt have a subwoofer control....

Ummm.......all you need to do is use the lowpass crossover on your amp. You can run your subs off of the "front" RCA out on the convertor as long as somewhere down the line you lowpass the signal.

does low pass prevent Low frequencies from going to the subs if you use the "Front" like he said?

Low pass says to subs "Play everything from this frequency and lower"

High pass says to subs "Play everything from this frequency and higher"

So low pass prevents highs and High pass prevents lows from going to your speakers.

No, a lowpass prevents frequencies above the crossover point from going to the sub. It doesn't matter where the signal originates from (Front output, Rear output, Sub output), it will take whatever signals it receives and attenuate the frequencies above the crossover frequency.
