No, a lowpass prevents frequencies above the crossover point from going to the sub. It doesn't matter where the signal originates from (Front output, Rear output, Sub output), it will take whatever signals it receives and attenuate the frequencies above the crossover frequency.

Like I stated in my post you quoted, it doesn't matter whether you use the front or rear.
