How Do figure out current draw

My System: Alpine cda9807 head unit,Adiobahn 4004t 4ch amp also an A2200hct 2ch amp. The 400t is running the door spkrs and the a2200hct is pushing2 Audiobahn 1008q subs in 2 separate Audiobahn bass tubes. My Question is : How can I figure out the current draw of the system? I'd like to know because I've blown 3 60a fuses! Can somebody help me out?

Id say that system just by looking at it would pull somwhere close to about 80-100 amps so I would try upping the fuse size to maybe 80 amps? Also what size wire is running this?

Another question which is better for 2 subs: 400x2 stereo or 800x1 mono

Just tell me this...How many watts are you pulling rms. If I get this right and just your subs alone are pulling 800watts rms alone then yea you def need a bigger fuse than 60 amp. Especially since you also have that feeding another amp for your full range speakers.

According to th manual @ 2ohms stereo is 400x2 and at 2ohms mono is 800x1. If that's what u mean.

Oh ok. Yea you def need an 80 amp fuse, and dont you mean 4 ohms mono? Anyway, doesnt matter, but yea you def need to get an 80 amp fuse, especially if the amp is a class a/b. They pull alot of current to make a modest amount of power.

This is Audiobahns reply:If your subs are the AW1008Q subs they are dual 2ohm voice coils. If each sub is wired in parallel they are 1ohm each so the amp will be running in 1ohm stereo if you have 1sub per channel. Running the amp at that load requires quite a bit of power. The max amperage draw of the A2200HCT amp is 120amps. The max draw of the A4004T is 40 amps. You will need a under hood fuse that is 160amps to 180amps depending on how long the power wire from the battery to the amps are.

Audiobahn has to assume you're running both amps at their full output constantly to cover their ***** in the case that your car becomes a charred pile of steel you can't sue them for giving you false information. They don't take into consideration you're running the HC amp at half it's max power, and probably about the same with the 4004.

If you WANT 1/0 wire and a 160A fuse it's not going to hurt anything, but 4 ga with a short 8ga to each amp with an 80 or 100A fuse would probably work just fine.

Thanks guys! I went with a 250a wafer fuse powered by what ever the conversion van Company installed for an alternator and a red top Optima with 960cca

I had the same system before I got two more subs and another amp. I still have the 1008's. Nice subs huh! I love them. Anyways. I am running 1/0, however, I had the same problem with the two and my amp. I upgraded to a 150 anl fuse and never looked back. 250 is huge. You might as well put a copper bar in there. Run 4g back to you distro and 4 to the a2200hct. 8 to the 4004t. That was my setup. Amp ran mono, speakers parallel.
