How come newbies always buy JL AUDIO???

My first setup was a generic "POS" - Global Sounds Incorporated (GSI) 12" 500 watt sub, with 2 channels of my 4 channel Profile Baja series 400w amp going to the sub because i didn't realize you couldn't bridge all 4 channels before i got the amp. Though in my defense I ended up paying less than 100 bucks for everything. Since then I have moved on, and though I have definitely contemplated, I have never owned a JL product.

Several installs and years of experience later, I am now the proud owner of a Kicker 1200.1, Alpine CDA-7894, Infinity Reference 5x7s, and a 15" Adire Brahma (which is still awaiting the box I am having shipped in so dont ask how it sounds, yet).

JL's are overpriced?

Please. The W3 is probably the most forgiving sub on the market. You can put it in virtually any box and it will sound good. The low end isn't quite there, but for a bass driver in the mid-range portion, it's a fine woofer.

The W7 costs a ton because of development. Making the physical subwoofer probably only costs $100-$150. However, the sub took something like 6 years to develop. Those engineers needed paid while they were working on it, and that is what you are paying for.

I've personally had an Audiobahn, an Image Dynamics, a W3, a Vega 12D4, and now a ...., and the W3 was the best sub I owned up until now. Instead of frying out when distorted, clipped power was thrown at it, it popped and stayed alive. My W3 and a 250 watt amp hit 147 dB's in a Hyundai Accent, and it still sounds very good as an SQ sub.

JL's are kinda like Marborl cigs when most people start smoking

they start with them

and the same goes for drimking beer most start by drinkin BUD!!

Ya the system i have right now is JL's and im a new person at it. the reason why i picked JL was cause the person at the store where i got it from told me about them. I got really ripped of but what im i gonan do. And also everyone was talkin' about how good they are and stuff. I mean they are great but now that i look back at it i ccould have got like XXX or Brahma instead. The only reason why people new at this get JL's are cause they dont know whatelse is out there

i'm a newbie and i did'nt start off with JL's. I asked around for good brands and was'nt as ignorant nor did i allow myself to be sweet talked by any dealer. I went out and looked, and asked, and researched, and auditioned, and finally I bought... just as anyone i think would do when purchasing something like a car, an electronic device etc and at the same research on shops were you would be getting em... after-sales support, best price, customer feedbacks etc.

Newbies buy JL because they are in the top 10 for quality.

Hell even many oldies (no offense) buy JL.

I personally have been using JL for over 6 years. With the exception of a few, every JL sub/speaker and amplfier I have ever used has been very well constructed and passed the test of time (actually alot of the stuff that I sold is STILL working, some of it from 6 years ago).

In short - JL is a good company, with high standards and a reputation to match.

i am getting a pair of JL WO 15's simply because they are great value for money can move plenty or air and can take my power well and yes i will prove it when i get em

and can someone tell me where ya can buy subs as good as JL audios's for the same or better price in a store not on the net in a store

100 bucks for a w-7? factory sponsered get them for free dealers get them for employees at half off cost (which if you are doing that you shouldnt be rubbing it in) if you have a dealer doing that for you good for you but you can do as well with other stuff and have fun getting it warrantied (you are last on the list as far as the company goes under normal conditions takes a week longer) and if you bought it hot double shame. im not a huge fan of the w7 but its a fine woofer as are all of the jl line its what all the others want to emulate, but its still 90% install

My friend is running a 15w3 in a sealed box, and pushing 1200watts at 1ohm to it. Everyone is waiting for it to go. Im gonna laugh at him so hard, and he thinks its doing 200db's. He's pretty funny

A buddy of mine works for Brandsmart in Kansas City. It's basically a high end stereo/furniture/car audio/appliance/etc store, and they give their employees 70% OFF COST to buy enough car audio for their own vehicles.

My friend bought his stuff for his 2 cars, then decided he didn't want the W7 and got something else from Brandsmart, under the condition that he couldn't buy any more for a specified amount of time.
