how can I messure wattage out of an amp

I need to know how to find out exactly how many watts my amp is putting out and when my amp is to big for my speakers so i want to adjust the amp to the rms load of the speakers....
use a dmm find the voltage and then do some math //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you can't measure an amp's output with any degree of accuracy without a good assortment of measuring equipment. There's a reason bench tests are almost always done professionally, and the ones that aren't don't hold much water even if the tester knows what they're doing.

If you just want to limit the power output of your amps buy yourself a DMM (digital multi-meter). You can find them at most department stores for $10-20, or if you have a discount tool store in your area (ex. Harbor Freight) you can find them for $5 or less on sale.

Once you have that read the gain setting tutorial in the amp forum.
