How can I determine what model RE sub I have.

I know this is probably a crazy question.

I have a pair of RE subs I acquired that were my brothers quite a few years ago. They have been sitting in a crappy ported box for years and my mom brought them to me. I finally decided to take one out and check the condition they are in. Both are in great shape appearance wise. one apparently had a small gash or cut to part of the surface and there is a piece of black tape over it.

anyways.... they look to be tripple stacked magnets with a large whole in center/pole vent. they are the classic 12 spoke basket and have smooth cones with just the RE emblem.

I looked on the site but couldnt find any info on past sub specs/pics.... these have to be a good 8+ years old atleast.

thanks. any info would be great.

this is the one that has the tape on it obviously.

they are a little dusty, but other than that in great shape. going to try and get them hooked up and tested out. when I took this one out of the box the ****** prefab box was all kinds of falling apart around the screw holes and chunks of mdf falling off.

gotta love prefab boxes.

probly re sx

I have a 18" sx older style - not same logo on the cone - but still not sewn in tinsel leads like yours ....

mine runs good - but makes some mechanical noise so dont plan on mounting them inverted...

anything above 1400w got my coils to smell a little - but then again it was a hifonics amp so it was probly square waves lol at clipping

id try your pair out on 800w each sub as a start - see how they go

I am going to hook them up just to see if they are still in great playing shape. when pushing slightly on the cone there is no friction or noise.

I am not going to use them in my setup. I am putting together a sq setup for my TL and will only run one or two SI BM MKIII's.

take a 2nd look the 06 and up se and sx have the same motor. back in the day the pole venting was different.

i have reconed a few se's and sx's that had the same motor. look on there website they even say the same diameter.

i dont know the full history of re and all of there changes over the yrs, so i could be wrong.

I am 99.99% sure that this sub is well before 06.

can anyone add some feedback on RE SE's??? I have not had any experience with them.

also, what they may be worth?
