How Can Can I Control Gain on 2 Amps with 1 Bass Knob?

OK so il be running two Orion HCCA D5000 and they have their own bass knob. i will not be strapping these and im trying to not use a EQ. is there any way around this? The bass knobs uses a headphone jack input to both the amp and remote.

The bass knob takes a headphone jack input? Never heard of that before, but in that case sounds like a Y-adapter would work.

? do these amps have the remote knobs? I dont think that "Y" will work. Look on Ebay for a universal remote switch that runs off your RCA input. That would be a better bet. Yea that'll work too. Its really hard to say though. You say you have the remote knobs right? And they all run on wire thats connected through 3.5mm jacks? If so I wouldn't see why if its all running on 3.5mm connections how introducing a y-adapter wouldnt split the signal.

Just to see if you can save some money at first, I say you go down to a local radio shack and buy a y splitter like I showed you and test to see if it works. If it doesnt, the way subzeros suggustion works is you'll just have take out the rca connections from the back of the HU, run a short rca to the PAC LC-1 knob he suggested, and reconnect the long rca cable to the knob that goes to the amp. The only thing is if you already have at least one of your OEM remote knobs I dont see why you should pay more on a new knob and short rca cable when a cheap Y adapter might work. Let me know how it works though im interested in seeing the results

the splitter on the bass knob wire might not preform correctly - the bass knob is just a potentiometer, so the amps are looking for a specific resistance. when you split the amp will see the bass knob in parallel with the input impedance on the other amp. it depends on the resistance range of that specific knob, and the circuitry of the amp.

call the manufacturer and ask them. tech support should know - if they actually designed the amp.

I like the idea of putting a gain knob ahead of the amps.

I'd just max out the gains on both amps and use the subout level on the HU to controll them.

Well, he could also get a line driver and a set of spliters. and still contrll from the deck. OP how much you looking to spend on all this.???
