how big port area should i have?

i have Digital design 818d D1 and my box will be 200L or 7 Cft3

i am thinking to get 112sq" slotted port area but is that too much or too less. I am running that subwoofer in 6kw max output, most of time it will be 2-4kw rms

Offhand I'd venture a guess and say it should suffice, it is 16in^ft3 of port after all. U can always model it on your power, in your planned airspace for more accurate predictions.

You initially listed 112in2 of port for 7ft3 net... that is 16in2 per ft3.

96in2 in 7ft3 of net volume comes to around 13.7in2 per ft3.

If I was looking for sufficient port I'd model it, but if that's not possible... I'd say offhand again the 112in2 should work for a higher powered 18 in my exp.

The site recommends 5-6ft3 net, if you downsize the net volume a touch that 96in2 of port will be 16in2 per foot in 6ft3 net... this is really not the way to do this but as your planning to overpower/push it at times. I'd stay within volume recommendations and possibly undersize volume a touch if it was me.
