WHOA! like really, put in a couple extra batteries charge them every now and then and put in a 2nd amp, you'll be a lot happier, trust me.
For those recommending a max sized alternator, you have to think, those amps are rated at MAX amperage draw. How often will an amplifier draw MAX current? I can assure you if you are a normal listener, then it will not be often, and even if it does happen every once in a while, your electrical will be able to compensate for the .085 seconds it is drawing max loads. I would say 200A would be plenty enough.
Yea but you should know that even a 4000wrms amplifier is not going to pull anywhere near 4kW most of the time. He can turn it up with a 200A alternator and proper battery and be fine I believe.isn't that amp 4000 watts rms? you have to imagine when he turns it up it's gonna draw a lot of amperage. not sure what's rated at but i'd imagine it's rated at 200-250 amps atleast, so probably around a 100 amp draw, then add a front stage amp, and your car's electrical components.
