How are the MRP line of amps from Alpine?

I believe these were their 05-06 line of amps. I've own several Alpine headunits and have always been impress but never have owned any of their speakers or amps. I have heard several positive reviews on their PDX line and have seen a few of their old v12 line in action. They were kicking butt but got hot enough to fry an egg on.

So basically do they put out their rated power? Slight underrated/overrated? Can they take direct 4gauge power cables? TIA.
