Hooking up surround sound

Hello. I bought the Kawasaki PV1690 its a portable DVD player that works with the ciggerete lighter of your car. It has dual lcd's that could be strapped to the head units in the back seats. My question is how do wire my setup so that what is playing on the DVD player is heard with the car stereo speakers?

Any help would be great.

What head unit do you have? You will need to plug into the line in/audio in on your deck with the RCAs from the portable CD player.

unless your head unit has a surround sound decoder, you won't be able to achieve a true surround sound effect. the most you will be able to achieve is a stereo effect. depending on your head unit, you can connect the dvd player via an aux input or fm modulator.

oops... I forgot you was trying to achieve surround sound. Automatically thought stereo. I have rarely seen or heard a surround sound setup in a car...although that would be nice for movie watchers on the road like myself.
