Hooking up mp3 player directly to amp

What i mentioned, is if your serious about the signal.. Yes, you can just buy an adapter with a 1/8 stereo plug or what ever an i pod has on it, to rca.. I did this years ago on my first system with a walkman but it wasn't the greatest, as far as sound quality, lots of distortion.
hmmm, I will check with mine tomorrow, but I don't remember hearing any distortion or much at all.

So could one possibly get this IPod HU system to sound good with an external EQ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Think of it as a h/u, Doesn't everyone want more than 2v preouts for a cleaner signal and for less chance of any noise ? Well, the amp in a ipod is no where even close to 2v. (From what i hear or read). I'm just anal about my audio though and i'm prob. putting too much thought into something so simple idk.
