Hooking amp to speakers

I just got my first set of speakers and a amp. How can i hook the amp up to one of the speakers and to my ipod? Im just asking for a simple walkthrough thanks.

OP, do not hook those two. Pick which one you think is prettier and run that one. Also, before you do anything. Read the first 20 threads in the subwoofer, amps and wiring forums.
