only 2500 strands? knu 4g has just over 2000 its self... this cant be 1/0.. 2 gauge maybe?

Strand count only has to do with flexibility. Fewer high gauge strands = less flexible; lots of low gauge strands = more flexible. What determines the overall gauge is the cross sectional area of metal in the cable. BTW, this wire has over 2500 strands, not 1500.
