homemade wire terminal?

hey im building my first box, and i dont really want to install a wire terminal, i was just going to drill a hole and run the wire through it, then seal it with caulk,

my dad suggested running a bolt through and attaching the wires to that

i dont really want to make any unnessicary breaks in the wire

what do you guys think?

to bolt

to drill

or to shell out unnessicary cash for a terminal(i realize its not that much, just dont want any unnessicary breaks in wire)

Just drill a hole in and run it threw and seal it,

You can just drill a hole and then seal it up real well.

Or, if you are going to be using a ported enclosure, you could just run the wire through the port.

the bolt idea's a good one though.

you could just get a short piece of all-thread the same diameter as a male bullet connector, cut a couple pieces 1-1/2" or so w/ a nut/washer on each side...

then use female bullet connectors to connect to the threads.
