man i just got the sony CDXGT500 .... and i wired all of the wires together and im not gettin any power...the fuses are good... yellow and red is hooked up... black is wired to black...maybe my problem is i dont know how to turn it on...it dosent say power anywhere...even in the manual...any help would be greatly appreciated...

Source button usually turns it on.

Do this for elimination (assuming you don't have a DMM).

Wire the HU's red and yellow together. Then wire them to the car's suspected ignition wire. If it doesn't work, wire both to the suspected constant wire. From there you can tell which one works or not.

yea im not gettin any power at all from these wires...it must be a fuse... but i checked the fuse box on the pasengers side...and all the fuses were good... are there any more fuse boxes???

dont wire black to black. take the black that comes off the head unit and gound it to a spot on the car. there should be some sort of metal behind where the HU goes that will run to the floor of the vehicle. otherwise take the cd player out connect red and yellow together and splice on a single wire to those 2. go to your battery have your friend hold the black wire to the negative post on the battery while doing that touch the red and yellow tailed out wire to the positive post. then see if you can get your cd player to turn on. if it wont its a problem with the cd player. if it does turn on check your wiring back inside the car.

man yall r great...it was the screw i grounded it 2... it was metal but there was plastic around it... i got everything hooked up and it sounds good on the radio...but one problem.... when i stick a cd in...there is no sound...it plays the cd but just no sound...any suggestions...lol im almost done

Do you have a Grand Cherokee? If so, you might have an amplified Infinity system. Go to your backseat, and lift the seat, you'll see a stock amplifier. You may have to wire the speakers from there.

Alternately, find the green/red wire behind the head unit and connect it to your head unit's blue/white wire to turn on the factory amplifier.
