homemade passive crossover

hey guys this is my first try at making a crossover. i need one for the tweeters on my 6x9s because the original crossovers got ripped off. i was planning on setting the high pass crossover at around 6500hz. i found a calculator and it told me i needed 3.06uF. heres a link to my plan on paint (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/523806/5). please tell me if my plan sucks or if i screwed it up real bad. thanks

oh ya, the they are 8 ohm tweeters.

Well what I get is

1/f = RC

f = Cut-off Frequency

R = Resistance

C = capacitance

1/6500 = 8©

C=1/52000 = 15.2uF

What calculator did you use?

i got it from bcae1.com. the formula he gave is 1/(2)(Pi)(f)® f=freguency and R=resistance.

1/(2)(3.14)(6500)(8)

1/(326560)

=3.06uF

is that the right formula?

no it is not. IN the formula it doesn't even use capacitor.

Use the formula I used.

Well using DC resistance and nominal shouldn't be that much different really.

I don't know.....some 8ohm tweets have DCR's down in the lower 5.xohm range.

ya, im wrong. It is indeed 3.05 uF.

i finished making the crossover and hooked it up and its awsome. the highs sound very natural and warm now and it saved my tweeters from rippin to shreds from the bass. lol
