Home Theater System - Sound Problems.

Well im planning on buying LCD and HD system next year but right now I have

Phillips HTS3450 system which I got from a friend for helping him out to move some stuff.

The problem is:

- you turn it on and there's no sound at all and subwoofer light starts blinking for like 3 minutes.

-Then static noise is coming form the speakers for another 3 minutes.

-finally subwoofer light stops blinking along with static noise

- and there's still no sound till you press "surround" button. Then sound is back on.

This waiting process takes 6 minutes but after that no problems at all. Even if u swtich the system off and back on, the sound is still there.

Anybody knows whats goin on?

Sounds like something in the 'receiver' is cooked.

I would look at getting something else.
