what would sound better/louder, two alpine type E or one Type r. they would all be 12's, ported, running off 500wrms tops. i would think twins would be louder cause of more surface area and same watts. i just want to verify that and get an opinion from someone thats done similar about whether its worth getting a worse sub for the sake of having two. i only have experience with single woofer set ups.

sure. i only have expeirence with alpine products so i dont know where to start. im looking at about 180 total for 1 or two subs. and it will be running off 500w. so if you know anything in that price range that will sound good and last, id love to know.
