my boss wants to get one of these home intercom systems throughout his house. problem is he is a reaaaal cheap skate. he told me that whatever the price of installation is they charge, he'd let me do it for like $100 off. problem is i really need some cash right now. anyone ever install one of these things? i think he's getting one from here http://www.mssystems.com/ . one outlet in the kitchen, bedroom, deck and frontdoor, thats it. it doesn't really look too difficult, but i dont know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. any ideas?

i'd imagine its just basicaly runnin wires... id go for it
thats what im saying, and my boss said when they were originally building the house, it was supposed to have it built in but it never was finished. but the wires where they want it are just hanging out of the wall. but he said he'd be willing to give $500:p:

I would give it a shot. You should be able to get an idea of hard it will be once you get started. Just alot yourself an hour or so, and if by then the shit is too tough, tell him you can't do it. Let him know upfront that there might be unknown issues that will not let you do it and he should be cool.

well then... if the wires are already there should make it pretty easy... prolly just gotta connect a few wires and screw them bishes to the wall... $500 ftw

Intercoms arent too hard but id go check out his house first. Usually in the basement youll install a central unit and then come off to all of the speakers and stuff from there. Id make shure he has drop ceilings in his basment and/or and accesbile attic. It wont be fun but youll make some good cash. At any rate check it out before you commit to it, because if there isnt a drop ceiling or accesible attic youll be bustin up some perty sheetrock.

Woops just missed the post above. As long as you can read a schematic your good if the wires are ran.

there is an attic in the house but no basement. but i think ill give it a shot, might not be too hard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

If all the wires are there its a tit job, if not just hop into the attic and find the header on the top of the wall you want to go down and drill into it. You might want to get yourself a fish tape if you have to pull any new wires in. Take your time and it should be a pretty easy and rewarding job.
