Home Audio Speakers in Car Door ?

Sure, people have been doing it since the dawn of Car Audio! Almost all of the original big installs involved home audio or pro audio equipment modified for use in the car audio environment.

Long story short, car audio speakers are designed for the harsh environment of a car and the general "cabin gain" that comes from the vehicle itself.

There's no problem running home speakers, except they might not like the moisture and temperature changes that can happen in a car compared to a home. Some people have reported the sound changing on some speaker brands depending on the temp and humidity. If you were going this route, it would be a good idea to run some type of enclosure or at least a pod to give the speaker some type of enclosure effect. Most speakers sound better in some type of enclosure instead of infinite baffle.
